What is Lannang?

If you grew up hearing your ama and angkong speak Hokkien but never learned to answer back, this app is for you. Short, friendly lessons build from hello and thank you to real conversations, using the phrases Chinoy families actually use, including the natural mixing with Tagalog and English.

This is real Lannang-ue, not Mandarin and not textbook Taiwanese Hokkien. It is made for Gen Z Chinoys reclaiming the language of their families. The goal is confidence: enough vocabulary and courage to say the next thing to the people you love.

Real family words

Phrases Chinoy families actually use, including the natural mixing with Tagalog and English. Not Mandarin, not textbook Taiwanese.

Audio you can trust

Every word has audio, checked against real speakers so you learn how it actually sounds, not just how it is spelled.

Streaks that stick

Bite-size daily lessons, XP, and a streak flame keep you coming back. Miss a day and Dada gets a little worried.

Record and correct

Fluent in your family? Flag anything that sounds off and record it the right way. Your voice makes the app more honest.

Your guide

Meet Dada

Dada the chow chow cheers your wins, feels your misses, and keeps your streak alive. Get it right and you hear "Ho! Correct." Miss one and, well, your ama felt that. Dada believes in you. Chinchai lang.

How it works

1

Start from hello

Begin with the words you already half-know, then build up one bite-size lesson at a time.

2

Build real sentences

Drag mahjong tiles to build phrases, match pairs, and speak along until it feels natural.

3

Keep your streak

A few minutes a day is enough. Earn XP, grow your streak, and watch Dada celebrate every win.
